蒋欣不是她的真名，但读音就是这样。未经她的同意，写出名字是不应该的
她是个大女孩，11岁了，已经在这个病房住了3年多。出不了院，是因为她得了一种病：播散性脑脊髓膜炎（这种病有可能是接种疫苗或病毒感染引发，概率相当的小），疾病侵袭了她的脊髓和脑干，她无法自主呼吸。脑干又称生命中枢，管理着呼吸、心跳、体温等等。如果脑干受损，生命就极其危险。有时处决犯人，就从后面枪击脑干，一枪毙命
现代医学对没有自主呼吸的病人还是有办法的，就是采用人工辅助机械通气，俗称上呼吸机。将一根管子经口或鼻，再穿过喉部的声门，到达气管，管子的另一端连上呼吸机，让机器往肺里送气。这样，如果患者的其它脏器还能挺住的话，就能活很久。在没发明呼吸机之前，呼吸衰竭的病人是要靠医务人员用手捏皮囊往肺里灌气的，而且每次捏进去的气体量和压力都不均一，医务人员很辛苦，病人也撑不了多久
记得看过一篇短文，介绍呼吸机的发明，好像是上个世纪北欧的一个国家，学龄孩子里爆发一种病毒感染，导致很多学生呼吸衰竭，都需要人工通气，结果没有那么多医务人员来捏皮囊，就安排健康的学生排班轮流捏，发现这也不是个事，于是想偷懒的人，就发明了呼吸机，经过几十年的发展，呼吸机越来越先进和方便，简易的家用型也开发出来，无数的生命得以延续。我找到了这个故事，描述的大体不差，看来我记性不错：http://hi.baidu.com/bump/blog/item/adc338dbad54cf66d0164ed5.html
而蒋欣已经用了快3年的呼吸机了。上呼吸机的人很痛苦，尤其是清醒状态下。很多外科患者手术中全身麻醉时也短时间用呼吸机，因为全身麻醉也会引发呼吸障碍，这些患者一般清醒了，就撤机。一根管子经过声门，就很难发出喉音说话，而且有强烈的异物感。而蒋欣通过锻炼可以发出很小的声音，表达一点意思。这是她和外界交流的唯一的渠道，因为疾病也侵及她的脊髓，导致四肢也瘫痪了。你看，她是多么的不幸。不，这还不是最痛苦的。疾病还侵犯了她的视神经，尽管她的眼睛外观无异常，但视神经出了问题，无法将信号传到大脑视觉中枢转换成图像
但蒋欣的认知能力目前还正常，会提出要求，比如要求放会儿音乐给她听。有时也会和护士发生争执，这可以理解，就是在家里，和爸妈吵一下也很正常。人需要发泄，何况这么痛苦。护士对她还不错，有时也批评她，因为觉得她太磨人了，会提一些过分的要求，比如有天护士给她吸痰（这是对每个上呼吸机的人每天必须的操作，因为他们插管后就不会咳嗽），吸了45分钟，蒋欣还要吸，护士说没有了，她就不干。那天是中秋节，蒋欣的爷爷在外面等着，要护士帮着问问她想吃点什么，她就是不说，还哭，哭也哭不出声音，只有流泪。有天早上，护士交班时说，昨晚给蒋欣骂了，也不知道骂的什么。今天早上她哼着要换尿片，可尿片是干的，护士跟她解释了，她不听，还流泪。护士虽然低声批评她，还是满足了她的要求
我时常怀疑，这个世界真是被创造出来的吗？造物主为什么会如此偏心？为什么那么多人生来就面临着种种不公？相貌、智力、甚至出生地域导致的不公暂且放到一边，为什么有些人还要备受折磨？
看得很伤心，没有理由要求他们坚强的

当无能为力的时候，我们仅仅希望病情不要再恶化。事实上，相当一部分疾病的转归并不被医生的治疗所左右
