10 seats for London shows
“Restricted view” seats are alwayscheaper, for obvious reasons. At the Almeida, they go foras little as 9, which is remarkable as there are afew seats availablewhere the stage is hardly obstructed at all.
In the Almeida, seats J 10 11and L 10 11 and L 19 20 are fine, as well as K 8 and 19. As with all theatres, be sure to ring for these seats if you can’t book them online. They run “Barclay’s http://www.cheapjerseys11.com/ Front Row”, where front row tickets go for 10, two weeks ahead of the show opening. There are 41 tickets available each day, meaning you have 205 chances every week. These go on sale at 10am Monday and often sell out within moments, but it is at least worth trying. The seats are limited to two per person.
The Donmaralso offer 7.50 standing tickets, though these aren’t available on every production. These holy grail of cheap jerseys cheap seats are sold at the box office once allother tickets have soldout and are only availableat the manager’s discretion. Friday and Saturday performances are, unfortunately, excluded from the offer. It’s dedicated exclusively to new writing and many ofitsshows get transferred to the West End, and occasionallyto Broadway. On Mondays, they sell10 tickets in both Jerwood Theatres (Upstairs and Downstairs). Half these tickets are offered in advance to Friends of the theatre, and the rest are kept and sold online at 9am on the day of the performance. They can’t be boughtfrom the box office itself and, for Upstairs, are limited to two per person.
The Jerwood Downstairs is incredibly priced for the rest of the week, too, with the lowest priced tickets selling for just 12. For any big spenders under 26, the Jerwood Upstairs also offers12 seats unfortunately they aren’t available for every production, but it’s always worth asking as a number are usually held back.
For those with considerably smaller budgets, the Royal Court also offer ticketsfor a miniscule 10p. Four tickets are available before many shows(though not all)and all are restricted view. Still 10 pence! The Royal House itself is almost as much of a wondrous spectacle as the performances it puts on, which range from opera (obviously) to ballet to screenings of classic films with live orchestral backing. They offer a number of fairly cheap seats if you’re willing to book well ahead of timeand happy to go on the first night: these can usually be bought for around 14, or 12.50 if you head down to the purpose built Linbury Studio Theatre.
Choose to sit in the upper reaches of the amphitheatre (or, if you’re lucky, the balcony) and you’llpick up a spot on a padded bench for 11. The real bargains, though, are bought in the standing areas of the upper and lower slips: the view may be a little obstructedand are no good if you suffer vertigo, but sound swells up to the ceiling gloriously. And the best part? Tickets gofor as little as 2. The Royal Opera House is always particularly oversubscribed, so it’s always vital to book well ahead of time. Previews here are 10 (12 if the production is a musical), and because ofthe unallocated seating policy, if you arrive early enough, you could get the best seats in the house. The Playhouse also offers a fairly brilliant Pay As You Go subscription service: invest50 upfront and you gettickets to any five shows of your choice, even if thetickets to that show cost more than 10. These five tickets never expire, so there’s no time limit on when you have to ourchase them or use them by, andtickets can be boughtat any point in the run, so you won’t forever be seeing previews. Some cost a little more, sometimes 7 and sometimes 10. Jump on these seats as soon as they come in, because they often sell out almost instantlyand are usually for specific dates. If you do get the tickets, dress up when you go,too, as Masterclass areoften are filling up top floors on Press Nights. Unfortunately, there’s no set number of seats put aside, but it’s often a fairly decent number for Rory Kinnear in the Trial, the theatre were selling around 50 10 tickets. As ever, book in advance or turn up on the day to try your luck. Over 60s don’t do quite so well, but weekday matinees are 15. Aside from the 10 bargain tickets, bulk buy seats at the Young Vic and you’ll save 20% on the prices.
